A terrorist killed in a recent operation by security forces in the Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was a regular member of the Afghan Taliban and the nephew of a provincial police chief in Afghanistan.
According to sources, the terrorist, identified as Hafiz Saifullah, also known as Asif, was the nephew of Qari Amir Abbas Sharafat, the Afghan police chief of Musa Khel district in Khost province. Hafiz Saifullah, the son of Marwais Khan, was a resident of Rogha village in the Bak district of Khost province and was an active member of the Afghan Taliban.
Sources further indicated that Saifullah had joined the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and illegally crossed the Pak-Afghan border through Khost to enter the Kurram district of Pakistan, accompanied by other terrorists. He was a key operative of the notorious Kazim group within the TTP in Kurram and was involved in operations against security forces.
