ISLAMABAD: Former Corps Commander Karachi, Lieutenant General (retired) Muhammad Saeed, has stated that the recent threatening remarks made by the Indian Army Chief against Pakistan reflect a deliberate, aggressive, hyperactive, and revisionist Pakistan-specific foreign policy approach adopted by New Delhi.

According to the retired top commander, contrary to Indian grand strategic misconceptions, Pakistan has no plans to undo India either politically or militarily. Instead, Islamabad’s strategic objectives are limited strictly to seeking a just and peaceful solution to long-standing historical disputes between the two neighbouring nations.

Lt. Gen. (retd) Saeed says that it is high time for the Indian leadership to understand that it cannot simply wish away the fifth most populous country on the planet. He highlighted that Pakistan occupies one of the world’s most critical geo-strategic locations, remains regionally and globally relevant, possesses highly capable armed forces, and is an established nuclear power. He warned that any unilateralism or unprovoked aggression from India will always result in a “bloody nose” for the aggressor, reinforcing that India will never be in a position to militarily dictate terms in South Asia.

The former military leader concluded that the future of the 1.75 billion people living in South Asia depends heavily on regional stability. He noted that the region will achieve a more prosperous and secure future only if India’s politico-military leadership resists the traditional behavioural flaws often exhibited by rising powers—specifically hubris, overly ambitious policy designs, and the dangerous underestimation of an opponent.
