UPPER DIR: Two women were killed, and five other people were injured when a pickup plunged into a deep gorge in the Dogdara Shringal area of Upper Dir on Sunday.
According to the Rescue 1122 spokesperson, a passenger-carrying pickup fell into a stream near the Dogdara Shringal area, where two women died on the spot, while five other people sustained critical injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital.
The rescue spokesperson said Hameed-ur-Rehman, son of Sadbar, resident of Majal Khor Dogdara, was driving the vehicle when he lost control of the steering and it fell into a deep ditch, resulting in the deaths of two women.
The deceased were identified as the wife of Roz Muhammad Khan and the daughter of Riazullah, who were killed instantly in the traffic accident.
Those who were injured in the incident have been shifted to the Rural Health Centre Shringal for medical assistance.
