ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain, windstorms and thunderstorms in upper parts of the country during the next three to six hours under the influence of an active weather system.

According to the PMD, rainfall accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is expected in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Swabi, Buner, Mardan, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Battagram, Shangla, Chitral, Bajaur, Charsadda and Peshawar.

The weather department said rain is also likely in Kashmir, including Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Bagh and Rawalakot, as well as at isolated locations in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The PMD advised the public to take precautionary measures due to the possibility of adverse weather conditions and urged citizens to stay updated through official weather advisories.
