ISLAMABAD: Islamabad-based senior journalist Anas Malik on Tuesday said that since the Taliban took over in Afghanistan, there has been a horrific increase of 300 per cent in terrorist attacks in Pakistan and 500 per cent in suicide bombings.

Sharing a BBC report, he said in a message on X (Formerly Twitter) that Pakistan has lost more than 4,000 of its citizens since the establishment of the Taliban government in Afghanistan.

Raising a tough question, Anas Mallik said that the families of the deceased want to know why the Taliban provided shelter, support and facilitation to these terrorists, which allowed them to carry out terrorist attacks in Pakistan, killing ordinary citizens.

He added that looking at any one incident in isolation from the wider ongoing operations against terrorism is blind to reality and misleading.

According to the journalist, the use of Afghan soil against Pakistan is a serious matter on which the affected families are waiting for answers.
