Directorate General Immigration and Passports reviews new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with national database and registration authority (NADRA) to modernize passport system and improve public facilitation.
Meeting chaired by Director General Immigration and Passports, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, reviewed measures aimed at modernizing Pakistan’s passport system and expanding digital facilities for citizens seeking passport-related services from home.
During the meeting, officials discussed the preparation of comprehensive and effective standard operating procedures (SOPs) being developed jointly by the Directorate of Immigration and Passports and NADRA.
According to the briefing, the new SOPs are intended to strengthen coordination among institutions, enhance transparency in the system, and ensure faster delivery of services to the public.
Officials informed the meeting that under the upgraded digital framework, citizens will be able to access several passport-related facilities remotely, while various stages of the passport process will be made easier and more secure through modern technology.
Speaking on the occasion, DG Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa said an integrated system was being developed in collaboration with NADRA to provide citizens with international-standard services and reduce unnecessary overcrowding at passport offices across the country.
