PESHAWAR: A strongly worded political statement has claimed that the narrative surrounding the May 9 incidents, particularly the attack on Radio Pakistan Peshawar, has collapsed following recent court decisions.
It said that stay orders issued by constitutional and high courts in favour of Radio Pakistan have reinforced ongoing legal proceedings and limited the provincial government’s ability to withdraw cases.
The statement further alleged that attempts by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to form parallel inquiry committees were rejected by the judiciary, describing it as an effort to influence or weaken the cases.
It also named senior PTI leadership, including the chief minister, in relation to the incidents, referring to videos and forensic evidence as part of the ongoing investigations.
It additionally claimed that efforts to delay proceedings through financial or political influence had failed, arguing that the cases are now progressing on the basis of available evidence.
The statement concluded that the legal process in the May 9 cases is expected to continue and that accountability will follow through the courts.
