KISHTWAR/KASHMIR: A loud explosion was heard in the ‘Paddar’ area of Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir and smoke was seen rising from the forest area, after which concern spread at the local level.
Soon after the incident, various videos and pictures started circulating on social media, claiming that an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft or helicopter had crashed. Official Denial: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has strongly rejected all these reports.
The official spokesperson has clarified in his statement that these reports are “false” and have nothing to do with reality. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has also appealed to citizens not to believe in unverified videos or claims or share them further. Current situation:
Local administration, police and security forces had reached the spot and started the investigation process. According to initial reports, panic arose among the locals after the forest fire and the sound of an explosion, but no evidence of a plane crash was found. Authorities are still trying to find out the exact cause of the fire.
