Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and European Council President Antonio Costa recently held a telephone conversation to discuss the tense situation in the Middle East, focusing on regional peace and security.
During their discussion, Prime Minister Sharif informed President Costa about Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to promote peace in the Middle East and highlighted the country’s engagement with various world leaders.
He said that Pakistan is actively working to de-escalate tensions in the region and to achieve lasting peace.
In response, President Costa acknowledged Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to ensure stability and commended the country’s constructive role in resolving disputes through dialogue. He expressed that the European Union is prepared to offer all possible support to Pakistan in its peace initiatives.
Both leaders agreed to prioritise continued diplomatic efforts and to maintain communication in the future.
