In a significant boost to Pakistan’s indigenous defence capabilities, a modern air defence system developed by a private sector firm successfully shot down an aerial drone during a test at the Tilla Firing Range in Jhelum.

The successful interception represents a key milestone in the country’s efforts to modernise its airspace protection through domestic innovation. Officials noted that the trial highlights the growing role of the private sector in defence production, moving the nation closer to self-reliance in high-tech military hardware. This achievement is expected to further strengthen Pakistan’s ability to counter emerging aerial threats and maintain the integrity of its regional airspace.
