Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products on Friday.
Addressing the nation in Islamabad, the Prime Minister said that today he is speaking to the nation on a historic occasion because there is talk of peace in the Gulf, not war. The minister said that the parties have agreed to talk peacefully today.
The Prime Minister announced a reduction in the price of petrol by Rs 12 per litre, while diesel will be reduced by Rs 135 per litre. Similarly, the new price of diesel will be fixed at Rs 385 per litre, while petrol will be available at Rs 366 per litre.
He said that Iran and the United States accepted his proposal and entered into a temporary ceasefire, came to the negotiating table, and agreed to a solution through talks.
Both sides are coming to Pakistan on the sincere invitation of Pakistan. This is a proud occasion not only for Pakistan but also for the Islamic world.
He said that the services of Field Marshal Asim Munir will always be remembered in golden words of history. The Field Marshal and the Deputy Prime Minister’s team worked hard in all these stages.
The Prime Minister said that the stage of permanent and lasting peace is difficult. The nation should pray in the presence of Allah for the success of the peace talks.
Tomorrow, the leadership of both countries will be present in Islamabad, and the talks will be held, and the Pakistani leadership will make every effort for the success of the talks.
Due to the war situation in the Middle East and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a historic increase in oil prices was recorded all over the world, including Pakistan.
