PESHAWAR: A well-known transgender person, Sara, was shot and critically injured near Iqbal Plaza for allegedly refusing to pay extortion.
According to police, an armed assailant shot the famous Sara multiple times near Iqbal Plaza, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Faqirabad police station. Reports indicate that the alleged suspect had been demanding an extortion fee of Rs 600,000 from Sara for several days. When Sara declined to pay, the suspect opened fire at her before fleeing the scene.
Sara was quickly transported to Lady Reading Hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment and remains in critical condition. The police have filed a report and launched an investigation to apprehend the suspect and gather further information regarding the incident.
