How Pakistani diplomat to the UN responded to Indian allegations?

Pakistani diplomat to the United Nations Saima Saleem has responded to Indian allegations by saying that New Delhi is pursuing a policy of state terrorism at the domestic and international levels.

Addressing the UN General Assembly session, Saima Saleem said that India’s hypocrisy has been exposed; it can no longer hide its secret networks of terrorism in the region, in addition to aiding, abetting, and financing terrorism in Pakistan.

It may be recalled that yesterday, in response to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s address to the 80th session of the General Assembly, Indian diplomat Pital Gehlot had alleged that Pakistan was protecting terrorist groups like the ‘Resistance Front’ (TRF).

India had claimed that an organization called Resistance Front was involved in the Pahalgam attack, while the group denied these allegations. Pakistani diplomat Saima Saleem rejected the Indian allegations, saying that “Indian-sponsored terrorism through its proxies like TTP (Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan), BLA and Majeed Brigade has not only claimed the lives of thousands of Pakistanis but has also turned places of worship, educational institutions and workplaces into places of killing and destruction.”

She mentioned Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war on terror and said that a body like the United Nations does not need lectures from an aggressor, occupier, and state-sponsored country that sponsors terrorism. Saima Saleem demanded an independent, credible, and impartial investigation into the Pahalgam attack, saying that ‘if India is not hiding anything, it should be willing to investigate.’

Dealing with discrimination in India, diplomat Saima Saleem said that during the RSS and BJP regime, Muslims and Christians are being targeted based on religion, and Sikhs are being targeted based on identity, while Dalits are being treated inhumanely based on caste.

She added that ‘India bullies its neighbours, obstructs regional cooperation, exports violence abroad through extrajudicial killings, and funds proxies to destabilise the region.’
