ISLAMABAD: Law enforcement agencies carried out coordinated search and combing operations across multiple areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, along with simultaneous actions in Attock, Chakwal, Murree and Jhelum on Afghan immigrants.

According to Officials a joint crackdown was carried out against Afghan Illegal nationals residing in Islamabad, Rawalpindi.

In the federal capital, operations were completed in Barakahu, Athal Chowk and Dhoke Jilani, as well as in Fauji Colony and Bangash Colony.

In Rawalpindi, late-night searches were conducted in the Pirwadhai police limits, covering Fauji Colony, Bangash Colony and Badr Colony.

The joint operations involved police, Rangers, CTD personnel, Elite Force units, Dolphin Squad and intelligence agencies under an integrated operational framework.

Overall, three SHOs, five Rangers personnel, 138 lady police officials and hundreds of police officers took part.

Authorities said the drive focused on screening illegally residing Afghan nationals, verifying residential records and checking identity documents.

Across 31 districts, several illegal Afghan nationals were detained and shifted to the Afghan Holding Centre in Dhoke Syedan, while cases were registered against property owners under relevant laws.

During the operations, hundreds of houses, shops, vehicles and motorcycles were searched, and dozens of suspects were taken into custody. Security was also heightened at sensitive locations across the Rawalpindi region.

Officials reiterated that only legally documented individuals would be allowed to stay in Pakistan, adding that indiscriminate action against unregistered foreign nationals would continue in a phased and organised manner.
