‎A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi to review the service delivery of provincial departments under the Good Governance Roadmap.

A detailed briefing was given by the concerned authorities regarding the progress on the targets completed so far and the ongoing initiatives. Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi clarified that making service delivery exactly in line with public expectations and needs is the primary and ultimate mission of the provincial government.

He clarified that no negligence or delay will be tolerated in the implementation of the Good Governance Roadmap and directed that unconventional but effective strategies be adopted to complete the delayed matters as soon as possible.

The Chief Minister directed that the mid-term measures set under the Good Governance Roadmap should be completed by June this year at all costs. He also emphasized on completing all arrangements in time to make the spring plantation drive the biggest and most organized plantation activity in the history of the province.

The Chief Minister directed that full participation of government employees, students and civil society should be ensured in the plantation drive, while the process of planting fruit trees, especially in government offices and official residences, should be promoted. The meeting also considered the “Roshan Qabee Package” worth Rs. 1,000 billion for the merged districts. Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi directed that the preparation and finalization of the said package should be completed this month and given an actionable form so that development activities in the merged districts can be accelerated. The Chief Minister also directed all provincial departments to immediately start the process of preparing the budget for the next financial year.

Moreover, the meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party was directed to be held on a weekly basis to ensure timely approval and implementation of development projects. Regarding the health sector, the Chief Minister directed to complete the process of recruitment of contract doctors in government hospitals by March 5.

Similarly, immediate steps were also directed to be taken for the launch of mammography services in DHQs of southern districts and regional DHQs of other districts. Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi also issued instructions to make damaged and inactive tube wells functional on priority basis across the province so that the problems faced by the people could be resolved immediately. In the education sector, the Chief Minister stressed on ensuring the attendance of teachers in government schools from 90 percent to 100 percent and directed the concerned authorities to establish an effective monitoring system in this regard.

 

Similarly, reviewing the issues related to law and order and infrastructure, the Chief Minister directed to further accelerate the pace of construction work on Kumrat and Hangu Sarozai Road, while also issuing orders to further strengthen the security of anti-polio teams so that the campaign could continue without any hindrance. Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi said on this occasion that “Ehsaas Apna Ghar Program” is the vision of our leader and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, this important project should be completed on a fast track so that the provision of housing facilities to the deserving families can be ensured. The meeting was briefed that a total of 327 interventions have been identified under 17 departments of the province, out of which 47 have been completed while progress on 139 is ongoing as per the plan.

It was further informed that 268 milestones have been set under the Good Governance Roadmap, out of which 90 have been completed while only 3 are off track.

The Chief Minister clarified that good governance, transparency and effective service delivery are the top priorities of the provincial government, and all departments should ensure the achievement of these goals with a spirit of mutual cooperation and shared responsibility.
