ISLAMABAD: Imad Butt, captain of the Pakistan Hockey Team, launched a strong attack against the hockey management because he saw no possibility of working with them, and he accused management of misleading players about their intentions.

Butt announced to the media that he returned from Australia with his team when he declared his non-recognition of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) code of conduct. He claimed that management mistreated players because they required players to complete all activities which included breakfast preparation and clothing washing and washroom cleaning. He explained that players received instructions to prepare three daily meals with only $115 which he described as abusive treatment that needs official documentation.

Butt declared that the Pakistan Hockey Federation requires immediate help from a foreign coach because players should not have to search for sponsors. He stated that players suffered from silence enforcement because they received threats which would result in suspension if they disclosed information to the public.

Other players announced that their time in Australia produced a negative impact on team spirits because they had to sleep outside after their hotel arrangements failed to materialize.

Noor-ul-Sabah, Director General of the Pakistan Sports Board, stated that hotel bookings had been made for the team in Australia but were cancelled by the PHF, holding the federation responsible. He stated that a complete inquiry report will be delivered to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif who already received information about the mismanagement situation.
