DI KHAN (Jalal Mehsud) Including a station house officer, four police personnel were martyred when terrorists attacked a police party in Wanda Badh under the Panyala police station limits of Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday.
According to police sources, the police team was on a routine patrol in the area when terrorists ambushed them and opened indiscriminate fire, as a result of which four police personnel, including SHO Faheem Mumtaz Khan Marwat, were martyred.
DSP Paharpur Circle Adnan was also seriously injured in the incident and has been shifted to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention.
As soon as the information about the attack was received, a large police contingent reached the spot, and a large-scale search operation was launched by cordoning off the entire area.
Police officials said that a search operation has been intensified by setting up blockades in nearby areas to find the attackers so that the involved elements can be brought to justice.
