PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly has unanimously approved a resolution that urges the Hajj flights from Bacha Khan International Airport to be started for the convenience of the pilgrims from the province.

The government lawmaker Abdul Salam Afridi presented the resolution to demonstrate how government Hajj program restrictions create challenges for pilgrims. Pilgrims from KP districts must travel to different provinces and airports in order to reach their flights which creates additional costs and travel difficulties.

Direct Hajj flights from Bacha Khan Airport will provide pilgrims with major travel benefits while decreasing their travel time and operational costs, according to the resolution.

The KP Assembly requested that the federal government and relevant authorities take immediate steps to establish direct Hajj flights from Bacha Khan International Airport for the official Hajj program.

The assembly members supported the resolution because they believed it would bring major advantages to the people of KP while improving Hajj operational efficiency.
