PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Healthcare Commission has sealed 1650 health centres across the province. The Commission stated in its three-month performance report.
According to the Healthcare Commission spokesperson, 785 medical centres were registered in just three months, after which the total number of registered medical centres in the province reached 21,442. 7,544 medical centres were inspected, of which 3,523 medical centres were issued notices for various violations, while 1,650 medical centres were sealed.
Similarly, 133 medical centres were inspected, as a result of which 41 were issued full licenses and 184 were issued interim licenses. In total, 509 centres have been inspected since the start of licensing in the year 2022. Of which 173 were issued full licenses.
According to the report, eleven training sessions were also organised in three months on “quality of health services”, which trained 362 staff of medical centres from different districts of the province, while 1,656 staff have received training on quality of health services since the start of licensing.
Also, the commission received 298 new complaints in three months, out of which 302 were disposed of. Similarly, since 2022, the commission has received 4,528 complaints, out of which 4,453 complaints were disposed of. Commenting on the report, Director Registration Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Healthcare Commission Dr Shifa Haider Sawal said that the aim of expediting the registration and licensing process is to provide the best health services to the people of the province.
