Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari advised Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) that politics should remain within constitutional and political boundaries, warning that attacks on state institutions create instability.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stressed the importance of electoral reforms before the next elections, advocating for a system that all political parties can trust. He emphasized that political behavior must change over time, warning that confrontation would only lead to losses. Bilawal cautioned that attacking national institutions over minor arrests would result in legal action under the law and the Constitution.
He pointed out that if the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had engaged in similar actions, it would have faced much harsher consequences, asserting that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is not subject to the same level of accountability.
The PPP chairman noted that President Asif Ali Zardari could play a significant role in promoting reconciliation among political parties. He underscored the necessity of dialogue and political maturity to tackle the country’s challenges.
Regarding elections, Bilawal clarified that he was not demanding immediate polls but affirmed that elections would eventually occur. He highlighted the responsibility of all political parties to ensure free and fair elections and emphasized the need to restore public confidence in the Election Commission.
He remarked that disputed or predetermined elections would serve no purpose and noted that, based on the current situation, early elections seemed unlikely.
On the topic of the economy, Bilawal commented that while the government claims there are signs of economic improvement, addressing the economic crisis will require public-private partnerships. He stated that the country’s issues cannot be resolved through prolonged rule by any single party and expressed that no one political force can tackle national problems alone. He urged all political parties to act responsibly in the national interest.
