Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Advisor Muzammil Aslam faced challenge in defending his claims about the universities established during the Pakistan Tahreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government.

In a discussion on private TV program, Aslam asserted that the PTI had founded 33 universities during its tenure.

In response, Prime Minister’s Coordinator Ikhtiar Wali Khan asked Aslam to provide the names of these 33 universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

However, Aslam could only name three, Swabi University, Swat University, and Agriculture University in Dera Ismail Khan.

Additionally, Aslam attempted to credit his party, Tehreek-e-Insaf, with the establishment of Mardan University.

However, Ikhtiar Wali Khan refuted this claim, stating that Mardan University was established during the leadership of Amir Haider Khan, not during the PTI era.

This exchange has reignited the debate regarding the claims made by the PTI in the education sector.
