PESHAWAR (Kashifuddin Syed): Serious concerns have been raised regarding the transparency of the ongoing board examinations as the 9th-grade Islamiat question paper was reportedly leaked and sold in solved form near the Peshawar Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) on Thursday. The paper was available in the market for as little as Rs 250 at the exact time the examination was scheduled to commence.
Witnesses and sources confirmed that the solved version of the paper was easily accessible to students and the general public in the immediate vicinity of the board’s premises. The swift availability of a fully solved, lengthy paper has led to widespread speculation that the document was leaked well before the official starting time, allowing individuals enough time to prepare the answers for commercial sale.
Despite the blatant sale of the material near the administrative headquarters of the regional education authority, no immediate action was taken by the board’s vigilance teams or the local administration. The incident has drawn sharp criticism from parents and educators, who argue that such breaches undermine the integrity of the examination system and disadvantage hardworking students. As of now, the Peshawar Education Board has yet to issue an official statement regarding the security lapse or the possibility of an inquiry into the leak.
