GILGIT: A mild earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale jolted various parts of Gilgit-Baltistan on Wednesday, creating a brief sense of panic among the local population.

According to seismic monitoring reports, the tremors were felt at approximately 17:24 local time, with residents in several localities reporting clear and distinct shaking. While the shocks prompted many to seek safety momentarily, no loss of life or significant property damage has been reported in any part of the region so far.

Local authorities and disaster management agencies have confirmed that the situation is currently under close observation. Despite concerns about the tremors, there have been no reports of an emergency in the affected areas.
