PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has identified 22 doctors over allegations of wrong treatment under the health card scheme and has issued notices seeking explanations from the concerned individuals.
According to official sources, the action comes following complaints regarding alleged large-scale financial irregularities linked to the health card program. The department reportedly received multiple complaints concerning doctors at a major teaching hospital in Peshawar.
Following preliminary investigations, authorities decided to issue show-cause notices to 22 doctors. Further inquiries are currently underway, and officials indicated that action will be taken in accordance with the findings of the investigation.
Health authorities stated that accountability measures are being strengthened to ensure transparency and proper use of public healthcare funds.
