SWABI: Two men were killed after receiving an electric shock from an 11,000-volt power line while welding in the Yar Hussain area of Swabi district, Rescue 1122 officials said.
A Rescue 1122 team reached the site after receiving information about the incident and provided first aid to the two injured men before shifting them to a nearby hospital.
However, doctors declared both men dead on arrival. According to Rescue 1122, the deceased were identified as 45-year-old Iqbal Mufti Umar and 35-year-old Sajid Mahmood. Iqbal Mufti Umar was a mosque imam, while Sajid Mahmood worked as a welder.
The Rescue 1122 Swabi media coordinator said the two men suffered electric shocks after coming into contact with an 11,000-volt power line during welding work. The incident caused grief among residents of the area.
