PESHAWAR: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, made an unannounced visit to Zamung Kor, a facility providing care and education to orphans and other vulnerable children. He met the kids, heard their problems, and immediately gave the necessary orders to address the most pressing issues.
The Chief Minister kept the students in the loop regarding their lessons and gave a pat on the back to the top performers in the academic area. He ordered the installation of cameras in classrooms and the immediate hiring of qualified teachers to create a safer and more efficient learning environment.
In a move aimed at improving grievance redressal, the Chief Minister ordered the establishment of a dedicated complaints cell for children. He also announced that the government would cover tuition fees for students studying in private colleges under the Zamung Kor program.
Further directives included the complete digitization of the institute’s accounts system and the provision of transport services for children attending affiliated colleges and sports academies. CM Afridi also inspected various sections of the institute, assessed the quality of meals provided to the children, and visited the girls’ campus. He assessed how the orders given in his past visits were carried out.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister pointed out that it is not only legal but also ethical and humane to look after orphaned and vulnerable children. He made it clear that the Zamung Kor Institutes set up by the Ehsaas vision of Imran Khan would not depart from their original mission and promised to take personal care of everything regarding the program.
