ISLAMABAD: It has been revealed that a new luxury car worth about Rs 90 million was purchased for Chairman Senate Yousuf Raza Gilani from the government treasury, which has now been received by the Senate Secretariat.
According to sources, when Chairman Senate Yousuf Raza Gilani was directly asked about this purchase whether such a huge amount of money was really purchased from the government treasury, he confirmed and said that this car was purchased from the specific budget of the Senate.
This revelation has come at a time when the country is going through a severe economic crisis, inflation is on the rise and claims of austerity are being made at the government level. Despite this, the Chairman Senate declared the purchase of this expensive car as part of the Senate’s financial affairs and justified it.
