Employees of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department district Charsadda, are making fun of the official notifications and finally succeeded in their mission by making a controversy about the directives of the high-ups for staying back at their old stations.

The influential office assistants practically threw the clear orders of the Regional Director General of Health, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, into the trash by using delaying tactics for five and a half months. Office assistants Danish Fazal and Tahmidullah had kept the transfers pending for two and a half months despite the notification, after which both of them fulfilled their wish by mutual transfer.

The surprising and sad part is that two separate notifications were issued from the office of the Regional Director General Health on the same day. In one, the order was to report to the new station immediately, while in the other, the same two employees were mutually transferred.

This contradiction is clear evidence that the transfer files have become a playground in the name of notifications. Similarly, the office-bearers Jamil-ur-Rehman and Khan Alam also achieved their goal after five and a half months of delay.

Interestingly, the hospital administration also played an important role in their success by making excuses. MS Women and Children Hospital, Charsadda, Dr Adil had given more time to Khan Alam by making an excuse to deal with some urgent matters, while DHO Charsadda, Dr Waseullah Khan, had found a justification to stop Jamil-ur-Rehman in the name of budget and audit.

This situation makes it clear that the real purpose of transfers in the top offices of the health department is only to achieve financial benefits, and not to implement them based on performance. This disgusting tradition of issuing notifications and then withdrawing them is a stain on the reputation of the institutions.

Another shameful fact here is that the Health Directorate did not waste a moment in removing a public-sympathetic and honest MS Tangi Hospital Dr Amin Khattak overnight, but the same Directorate does not even dare to touch the employees who are in favour of the officers and facilitate corruption for five and a half months.

This clearly shows that the decisions of the Health Department are not being made based on merit or public interest but on the basis of recommendations, bribery and personal relations, which have brought the entire system into disrepute.

From a religious and moral point of view, employees who stop their transfers by taking bribes, recommendations or acting on the orders of the officers, gain temporary benefits, but in reality, they put a yoke of humiliation and sin around their necks, which will cause serious loss in the hereafter.

This transfer game of the Health Department has proved that celebrating falsehood as a victory is not a success but is an institutional failure and a murder of justice.
