Hamza Majeed Chaudhry, chairman of OZ Group is the owner of Sialkot team, who has emerged as the owner of the Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) eighth franchise after his company, OZ Developers, won the bid for Rs1.85 billion and named the team after Sialkot.
OZ Developers secured the franchise during the PSL expansion bidding process, marking Sialkot’s entry into the country’s premier T20 league. The franchise will represent the city, internationally known for its deep-rooted connection with cricket and sports manufacturing.
Hamza Majeed Chaudhry is an overseas Pakistani who previously lived in Australia before relocating to Pakistan a few years ago. He is widely regarded as a cricket enthusiast with a strong interest in promoting the game at both domestic and international levels.
In addition to investing in Pakistan, Hamza Majeed Chaudhry has also been involved in international cricket-related initiatives. These include sponsorship of the World Championship of Legends, held in the United Kingdom, reflecting his ongoing association with global cricket and his commitment to the sport.
Under Hamza Majeed Chaudhry’s leadership, OZ Group has established a presence across multiple sectors. Its associated brands, including Wise Market, hold a notable position in the business landscape. The group’s entry into the PSL is being seen as a significant move towards business expansion as well as a contribution to the development of Pakistan’s national sport.
