Pakistan is set for another revolutionary step in the space field to send a modern satellite into space under the leadership of the National Space Agency (SUPARCO).

This modern hyperspectral satellite aims to facilitate the exploration of mineral resources, agricultural development, flood monitoring, melting of glaciers, and the study of air pollution.

This satellite, developed under the supervision of the National Space Agency (SPARCO), will be launched into space in October 2025, which will further accelerate the pace of development in various fields including science and technology of the country.

“This satellite will provide accurate and up-to-date data on minerals, vegetation, soil and water quality, with the help of which surveys that took many years can now be completed in a few days,” said Suparco Chairman Muhammad Yousaf Khan at the inauguration of a workshop.

The SUPARCO Chairman added that this step by Pakistan will pave the way for effective and sustainable use of natural resources. This technology will help policymakers and researchers make timely and evidence-based decisions, which will prove to be an important milestone for the country’s economic and environmental development.

National institutions like SUPARCO are striving to achieve national interest and world standards. Pakistan is moving towards becoming a strong hub of space technology in the region.
