HARIPUR: A tragic road accident in the Haripur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa claimed the lives of at least three people, among them two females and a minor, while leaving a total of 27 others injured, who were the bus passengers of the wedding ceremony.
As per the police statement, the unfortunate incident took place in the limits of Khanpur Police Station, where the bus was said to have suffered brake failure. In trying to stop the vehicle from rolling down the ravine the driver turned it into a slope which resulted in a heavy crash.
Authorities reported that the three, including two women and a child, were killed immediately at the accident scene while 27 others suffered comprising of men, women and children.

The local people along with the rescuers right away offered their assistance and the wounded were taken to the Trauma Center located in Haripur. The main injured ones were then transferred to Abbottabad hospitals for expert treatment.
