PESHAWAR: The Meteorological Department has forecast dry and cold weather across most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for Sunday.

According to the Met Office, most districts in the province are expected to remain dry, with temperatures anticipated to drop further in hilly areas.

Weather experts predict that cold conditions will intensify in mountainous regions, including Chitral, Dir, Malam Jabba, and Abbottabad, where dry weather will persist.

Additionally, cold weather is expected to prevail in Peshawar, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan.

The temperature forecast indicates that the minimum temperature in Chitral and Dir is expected to be 1°C, while Malam Jabba is likely to record around 0°C. In the plains, temperatures are expected to drop to 5°C in Peshawar, 10°C in Bannu, 11°C in Dera Ismail Khan, and 4°C in Abbottabad.

Meanwhile, humidity levels have been recorded at 82% in Chitral, 82% in Dir, and 85% in Peshawar, according to the department’s report.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa health department on Thursday reported an increase in seasonal diseases due to rising environmental issues in the province.

The KP health department issued the report, which states that the air pollution in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has risen, and the health of residents is likely to suffer. The report said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department reveals that the number of people affected by cold and seasonal illnesses has surged to 636,966 as of October this year, up from 436,862 patients last year.
