PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a fog advisory for several districts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Upper Sindh, warning motorists and commuters of reduced visibility in the morning hours.
According to the latest update, moderate to dense fog is currently affecting parts of Punjab, with visibility recorded as low as 50 meters in Sialkot, 100 meters in Mandi Bahauddin and Toba Tek Singh, 150 meters in Multan, and 200 meters in Bahawalpur.
The fog is expected to spread to additional districts in Punjab, including Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Sargodha, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Faisalabad.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan are likely to experience similar conditions.
Upper Sindh districts including Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Kashmore, and Shaheed Benazirabad may also see dense fog during night and early morning hours.
Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and surrounding districts may experience light to moderate fog in the early morning.
The PMD has cautioned that dense fog could significantly reduce visibility on motorways and major highways, potentially affecting traffic flow.
