RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Acting Chairman Barrister Gohar said that if they had prior knowledge of rigging, then they should have boycotted the bye-elections.
“If we had known that our mandate would not be accepted this time too, we would not have participated in the by-elections,” Barrister Gohar remarked. He said that the seats which PTI had won in the past were given to Pakistan Muslim League(N), which negates democracy in the country. He added that we were thinking that our mandate would be accepted this time.
While talking to the media in Rawalpindi, Barrister Gohar said that we had endured so many hardships, we were thinking that our mandate would be accepted this time; if we had known that our mandate would still not be accepted, we would not have participated in the by-elections.
He said that they could not defend their seat in Haripur because it was a pre-planned conspiracy that resulted in the loss of this crucial seat in the National Assembly. Barrister Gohar said that despite the court order, meeting with the PTI founder is not allowed. Every time he comes, hoping that a meeting will take place, but his patience is running out.
