ABBOTTABAD: District police officer (DPO) Haroon Rasheed has said that Dr Warda was reportedly killed by her friend. Dr Mushtaq had given 67 Tolas to her friend Rida in 2023, which apparently caused her murder.
Addressing a news conference at the office on Monday, DPO Abbottabad said that initial investigation suggests that Dr Warda was killed within 45 minutes of her disappearance from the hospital gate.
DPO said that the slain doctor was taken from the hospital by her friend Rida, who reportedly killed her with three other accomplices at an under-construction building of the key suspect.
“We have arrested three suspects in the case and recovered the missing doctor’s body on their identification from the Thandiani area this morning,” DPO asserted.
He said his team arrested Nadeem, Pervaiz, and efforts are underway to bust Shamreez, who has been fleeing since the incident occurred.
According to DPO Haroon Rasheed, Rida was supposed to return 67 Tolas of gold of the slain doctor, but she used delaying tactics, and that day she called her to collect her gold, where the key suspect had already plotted to kill her.
DPO said that a joint investigation team would be formed at the demand of the doctors’ community to investigate the case fairly, and a section of 7ATA would also be added to the FIR.
The case of the murder of a female doctor from Abbottabad has reached the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. Government member of the assembly, Iftikhar, raised the issue of the murder of a lady doctor in the house. The member of the assembly termed the murder of Lady Dr Warda Mushtaq a sad incident. The kidnapping and murder of a lady doctor is the first incident in the district. This incident has created a wave of serious concern among the citizens of Abbottabad. The house is requested to take notice of this incident.
