LAHORE: Former Governor of Punjab, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa has passed away at his residence in Lahore after a prolonged illness. He was 90 years old. His body will be transported to his ancestral city of Dera Ghazi Khan, where his funeral prayers will be offered tomorrow.

He was a very significant political personality as during his lifetime, he held numerous positions, including being part of the provincial assembly, provincial minister, senator, and governor. His contributions in the political arena of Pakistan, especially Punjab province, are quite memorable.

After his demise, condolences were sent by many political personalities. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and former PM Nawaz Sharif expressed their heartfelt sorrow and sadness over his untimely demise. Punjab’s chief minister Maryam Nawaz also sympathized with the bereaved family.

In a condolence message issued by the CM of Balochistan Sardar Sarfraz Bugti, he stated that “Khosa was an honest, gentle, sharp, and wise politician,” mentioning further that he had a personal bond with him and that he used to receive lots of love and affection from him.

The demise of Sardar Khosa ends the life of a very respected political personality who is dearly missed by all.
