ISLAMABAD: Senator Faisal Vawda has announced that Faiz Hameed is set to provide testimony against PTI founder Imran Khan, based on proof in the trial related to the occurrences of 9 May 2023.

Talking to a private news channel, Senator Vawda mentioned that everyone connected to the events of 9 May will be held accountable. He highlighted that Faiz Hameed has been found guilty on four counts and there is no uncertainty about his testimony, which will be supported by strong proof.

Vawda further remarked that Imran Khan and Faiz Hameed had earlier talked about Hameed taking up the role of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) emphasizing that this decision would have served their interests exclusively without providing any advantage to the country.

“Consider this. Appointing Faiz Hameed as the COAS would have benefited them exclusively not the country ” stated Vawda.

He also highlighted that Hameed was instrumental in organizing and carrying out the 9 May incidents, which included both the PTI leadership and Hameed personally. Although he has been convicted Faiz Hameed retains the ability to challenge the verdict.

Senator Vawda additionally explained that he had separated from PTI one year prior, to the events of 9 May advising the party against following a course that would ultimately result in catastrophe. He‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ further added that the Pakistani army under the command of General Asim Munir had successfully defeated the dangers and, therefore, Pakistan’s defense and national security are still very safe.

“The government is not in a position to make a deal with its own independence, its heroes, or its forces,” Vawda exclaimed and cautioned that the situation in the country would get worse if the hostility against the state continues for a long ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌time.
