Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information and Broadcasting, Shafi Jan, has strongly reacted to the press conference of Punjab government spokesperson Uzma Bukhari, calling it contrary to facts and the result of panic.

In a statement, Shafi Jan said that playing politics based on personal interests is a very negative and regrettable behavior of “fake ministers”. He clarified that dragging the sons of PTI founder Imran Khan into political allegations is not only political revenge but also proof that the current government has completely fallen into panic.

Shafi Jan, while denying the propaganda being made regarding Qasim Khan, said: “Qasim Khan did not say anything negative about Pakistan’s GSP+ status. Federal ministers are distorting Qasim Khan’s statement and are engaged in a failed attempt to mislead the nation.”

The Special Assistant criticized the federal and Punjab governments and said that Imran Khan’s basic and constitutional rights have been taken away. He said that playing politics over a phone conversation between father and sons on a holy occasion like Eid is an old habit of this “incompetent group”. He reminded that it is Imran Khan’s legal right to contact his family, and the government should refrain from showing favoritism to him.

Replying to Uzma Bukhari, Shafi Jan said that perhaps she had forgotten about the meeting of Indian businessman Sajjan Jindal with Nawaz Sharif in Murree, on which many questions were raised even then.

Shafi Jan concluded by saying that the government is making baseless allegations against Imran Khan and his family to divert attention from the real issues, i.e., inflation, unemployment, and economic pressure. The people are yearning for basic amenities, while the government spokespersons have no time to make allegations.
