Uzbek President Shaukat Mirzayev visited Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS), a major defence and industrial organization of Pakistan, along with senior ministers, where he was briefed by defence officials regarding Pakistan’s defence innovations.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Staff, warmly welcomed the President and his delegation and gave them a complete tour of the institution. During this, the President was briefed on various areas of GIDS, which included modern defense solutions, industrial capabilities, and technological innovations. During the visit, both countries reiterated their commitment to further promote cooperation in defence, technology, and industrial sectors.
The President and his delegation inspected key facilities and got an opportunity to witness the progress of various sectors of indigenous defence production and industrial development in Pakistan. The visit highlighted the growing expertise and technological self-sufficiency in Pakistan’s defence industry.
Both countries emphasized the importance of promoting partnerships, knowledge exchange, and joint ventures in the defence, technology, and industrial sectors. The visit was presented as an important step in strengthening Pakistan-Uzbekistan relations and exploring various opportunities for cooperation.
The visit marks a milestone in giving a new dimension to bilateral relations and exploring opportunities for joint investment, technical collaboration, and industrial projects. The two countries agreed to further strengthen relations and open new avenues of cooperation in the region.
