Washington, D.C.: U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that a ceasefire deal between Russia and Ukraine is nearing completion, indicating a conclusion to the current conflict.

Addressing reporters at the White House, President Trump announced that conversations have taken place between European officials and that the U.S. Peace initiative has garnered complete backing from European leaders.

“We have witnessed advancement following the recent discussions in Berlin, ” Trump stated, noting that conversations have also involved Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the possible ceasefire.

Moreover, European leaders have concurred that any security assurances offered to Ukraine by the West must involve participation in the arrangement.

However, leaders have noted that the issue of territorial control remains a major obstacle in the ongoing negotiations.

Trump administration to reassess all Afghan immigrants amid security concerns

On December 2, the White House revealed that every Afghan immigrant is undergoing renewed scrutiny due to issues related to national security.

White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt stated that President Donald Trump has directed an evaluation of Afghan citizens coming into the United States especially in light of the recent shooting involving a National Guard service member.

Leavitt made it clear that the U.S. Government would promptly deport anyone determined to be a security risk, to the nation. “Our priority is protecting the safety and security of the public. Any person who threatens that security will be expelled from the country” she asserted.

Due to the increased security concerns the White House has also announced a halt to all refugee entries and the processing of Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) for Afghan nationals. This action comes after the event where an Afghan national allegedly discharged a weapon at National Guard personnel, triggering worries about possible security threats from certain immigrants.

Leavitt additionally highlighted that these actions were implemented to avoid security risks. “This assessment is vital for preserving the integrity of the immigration system and guaranteeing that individuals entering the U.S. do not jeopardize our security,” she remarked.

Concerning President Trump’s health, Leavitt shared an update comforting the public by stating that the president’s health was very good. She verified that the president had an MRI as a safety step. Confirmed that the findings revealed no medical issues. “The president’s heart is very healthy and his general health continues to be robust,” she declared.

Moreover, the U.S. Authorities have ceased granting visas to passport holders and asylum applications are, on hold pending further evaluation. This measure is included in the approach to guarantee that potential threats are thoroughly managed before permitting entry into the U.S.
