US Consul General Peshawar, Mr. Thomas W. Eckert, and Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Babar Saleem Swati discussed strengthening bilateral relations, regional stability, and the potential for economic and development opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The introductory meeting was held in a pleasant and positive atmosphere and aimed to strengthen bilateral relations and explore opportunities for cooperation in various fields.
Mr. Eckert was accompanied by Ms. Kathleen Gabalsko, Political and Economic Officer, US Consul General Peshawar. MPAs Mian Sharafat Ali, Sajjadullah Baqi, Akbar Ayub Khan, and Fateh-ul-Mulk Nasir attended the meeting on behalf of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, while Special Secretary Admin Syed Waqar Shah provided administrative support for the meeting.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed in detail matters of mutual interest, bilateral cooperation, regional stability, and economic opportunities. The meeting also emphasized strengthening institutional ties and promoting regular diplomatic dialogue. In particular, business, trade and investment opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the prospects for the development and modernization of the minerals sector were discussed.
Speaker Babar Saleem Swati expressed hope that the United States would present such constructive initiatives and proposals that would contribute to the development of the province and public welfare. He said that the provincial government and the assembly welcome every initiative and proposal that would help in economic development, better governance and overall prosperity of the province. The US Consul General also expressed interest in the prospects of cooperation and partnership in various fields.
