Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has strongly criticized the U.S. media for misrepresenting Iran’s position on negotiations. He emphasized that Tehran has never declined offers to visit Islamabad for talks.
Araghchi expressed deep gratitude for Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to mediate peace, stating that Iran’s primary concern lies in establishing the terms for a definitive and lasting resolution to what it considers an illegal war imposed upon the country.
We are deeply grateful to Pakistan for its efforts and have never refused to go to Islamabad. What we care about are the terms for a conclusive and lasting end to the illegal war that is imposed on us, said Araghchi. He concluded with a heartfelt message: “پاکستان زنده باد” (Long live Pakistan), reiterating Tehran’s commitment to peace and cooperation.
In a powerful statement, Araghchi acknowledged Pakistan’s crucial role in the diplomatic efforts, effectively dismantling weeks of anti-Pakistan propaganda. Through his official account on X (formerly Twitter), he recognized the significant contributions Pakistan has made in seeking a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict.
His comments directly countered earlier claims regarding Pakistan’s ‘irrelevance’ and ‘absence from the table,’ leaving no room for misunderstanding. Araghchi clearly stated that Pakistan has never been sidelined; rather, it has remained engaged, trusted, and actively sought for mediation.
What we care about are the terms for a conclusive and lasting end to the illegal war that is imposed on us, the Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized, showing Tehran’s willingness to cooperate with Islamabad. The diplomatic tone of his remarks displayed deep respect and a desire for direct engagement with Pakistan in peace efforts.
For days, critics suggested that Pakistan’s role was diminishing and that it was ‘not playing any part’ in the diplomatic process. However, Araghchi’s public acknowledgment has shattered this narrative, confirming Pakistan’s critical involvement in negotiations. The Iranian government’s official stance confirms that Pakistan is integral to the diplomatic discussions and peace-building efforts.
Analysts now argue that those who sought to downplay Pakistan’s role were not merely misinformed but intentionally misleading the public. This shift in narrative highlights Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability, serving as a stabilizing force while other nations contribute to unnecessary conflict.
Once again, Pakistan proves its importance on the global stage, working tirelessly behind the scenes to prevent escalation and advocate for a lasting resolution. As one narrative collapses, the reality stands strong: Pakistan is no longer on the sidelines—Pakistan is at the heart of the diplomatic table.
