BANNU: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Bannu region, working together with the local police, conducted an operation based on intelligence inputs in the Jhando Khel Road area close to Shagi Machan Khel that comes under the Mirakhel police jurisdiction. As a result of the operation, two terrorists were killed.
The terrorists killed in the operation have been recognized as Sohail, with the alias Sangri, and Ismail, with the alias Osman. They had a hand in many attacks against police personnel, especially the ones at the Sheikh Landak and Fatah Khel check posts, where a total of eight police constables suffered serious injuries.
Apart from the mentioned attacks, the terrorists were also accused of firing at security forces’ resupply convoys and planting an IED at the Rescue 1122 building, which was under construction.
Security forces seized some significant belongings from the terrorists during the operation, which consisted of two AK-47s, one pistol, many rounds, a motorcycle, two mobile phones, two IDs, and one TTP card.
But, under the cover of darkness, two of the terrorists “slipped” out during the night.
Zulfiqar Hameed, Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Additional IG CTD offered their congratulations to the local police and the CTD SWAT teams for the successful operation. They appreciated the officers’ courage, saying that these are the true heroes of the nation who save lives by confronting the terrorists.
Three militants killed in CTD operation in Peshawar
Similarly, three Khawarij members of Fitna-ul-Khawarij were killed in a successful targeted operation by CTD in the Zahir Ghari area of Peshawar.
Counter-Terrorism Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (CTD) Peshawar, acting on credible information, conducted a successful targeted operation against terrorists belonging to Fitna-ul-Khawarij in Taposano Bacha Cemetery, Zahir Ghari, a suburb of Peshawar, during which three most wanted terrorists were killed.
According to sources, during the operation, some of the terrorists’ associates escaped, taking advantage of the population, for whose arrest a search and strike operation is underway in the area. The process of identifying the slain terrorists has also been initiated.
According to CTD officials, two Kalashnikovs and a pistol with cartridges were recovered from the possession of the slain terrorists.
The Additional IG CTD, while paying tribute to the Counter Terrorism Department personnel for the successful operation, said that these brave personnel are playing an important role in eliminating the Fitna al-Kharij, and such brave personnel will prove to be the final nail in the coffin of terrorism.
He further said that the CTD personnel are always ready to maintain law and order and protect the public and operations against terrorist elements will continue uninterrupted.
