SHANGLA: Two houses were completely gutted in separate fire incidents in the Shangla’s remote areas of the tehsil Puran and tehsil Alpuri on Sunday.
According to local sources, the first incident took place in Manago village of Alpuri tehsil, where a fire broke out due to an electric short circuit, reducing the entire house and its belongings to ashes. In another tragic incident, a fire erupted in the house of Fazal Khaliq in Kopargah Bagyar village of Tehsil Puran, destroying the two-room structure along with all valuables.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported in either incident, as the inmates managed to safely evacuate. However, due to the mountainous pathways, rescue teams could not reach the sites. Residents took part in the firefighting efforts and helped save lives, though all household goods were destroyed.
The affected families have appealed to the government for financial assistance to rebuild their homes and for emergency relief tents, as they are facing harsh winter conditions without shelter.
