ISLAMABAD: A Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) order was given to all militant wings of the network that they be in Pakistan’s tribal areas and fast move back to Afghanistan. Together with Mufti Noor Wali, several TTP high-ranking members issued the directive, which was so well-coordinated that it was recognized as a communication of three tiers: from the central leadership to regional commanders and to local fighters directly.
Besides that, they are using better and better methods to make those lines open, safe, and secure. Lines that they use for such communication include Facebook messenger, printed leaflets, and the network of persons, from whom everybody gets the info, and it also ensures that it is clear and uniform of what the instructions state. It has been ordered that each faction should split up into various small cells and perform their return to Afghanistan via exactly those roads by which they had infiltrated Pakistan.
On hearing a loudspeaker announcement, Mullah Saeed Anar like regional commanders have welcome this command and putting it in practice by dominating radio and other communication means in Waziristan and among the rest of other areas too. The militants have been instructed to stop immediate action, and they must not act on the basis of any message that is not verified. First off, they are to know that coming orders are from the central Amir only when they have reached the ground of Afghanistan.
The letters are in Pashto along with the word “Bismillah” to foster trust and accordance within the ranks. The order seems to be a direct consequence of increasing pressure on the military wing of the TTP by the Pakistani army in recent times and stiff resistance of the government against the Taliban, especially in retaliation to attacks from the Afghan side.
There are two ways out of this one to be interpreted as a temporary ceasefire, while the latter is putting it as an outright victory for the TTP. Moreover, at least for the time being, the withdrawal will enable the faction to scatter and do the typical activities of any other guerrilla group, including the tried and tested re-grouping phase or even the idea of come back again eventually, but stronger and more fierce. Besides this, the mere fact that the Taliban inside Afghanistan are fully cooperating with the delivery of the orders to TTP in Afghan soil shows that they are not only aware of the situation but might even be facilitating their movement.
