ISLAMABAD: A national conference will be taking place in Islamabad on the 7th of January to be hosted by the National Dialogue Committee (NDC), and the discussion about political and constitutional problems will be at an extremely free and unrestrained level.
The NDC has already dispatched invitations to the big political parties, which notably consist of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Muslims League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), and Jamaat-e-Islami, etc.
According to inside sources, NDC tried to include Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP) into the conference but the latter declined the invitation giving the reason, “We received the invitation today, but we have decided not to participate.”
Moreover, the sources said that the authority for negotiations was given TTAP by the PTI founder and that any discussions would happen via the TTAP platform.
Political parties are invited to the conference to not only talk about the country’s concerns but also to create a dialogue and eventually to have stronger constitutional processes in the country.
