WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has made a shocking statement, claiming that Iran’s leadership has been “destroyed” and warning that the country’s future leadership will also face the same fate.
In his address at the Republican conference, Trump claimed that the Iranian Navy had been completely “destroyed” and that Iran’s warships were at the bottom of the sea. “46 Iranian warships were destroyed,” he claimed. However, he further claimed that he had ordered the military personnel to capture the Iranian warships, but they responded by saying, “It’s more fun to sink them.”
Trump further claimed that Iran’s drone and missile equipment had been completely wiped out. “We’re nearly winning the war against Iran,” he claimed. However, he further claimed that American forces would continue their attacks until Iran was completely defeated. He was not sure of the time Iran would surrender, but what he was sure of was that America would not stop until it had achieved victory.
Trump also claimed that the use of B-2 bombers had prevented Iran from launching an attack on the U.S. “If we hadn’t taken action, Iran would have obtained a nuclear bomb in two weeks. That would have been a difficult situation,” Trump said.
On the issue of sending ground troops to Iran, Trump denied circulating reports and stated that the US military, in partnership with Israel, was crushing Iran’s military capabilities. “We are dismantling Iran’s military strength with our Israeli partners,” he added.
Trump has also responded to criticisms during President Biden’s rule, saying that the situation in Afghanistan is “shameful.” He has praised the current administration in the US, saying, “The world respects us today more than ever before.”
Trump claims war could end soon, US ahead of 4-5 week estimate
Earlier, President of the United States Donald Trump told CBS News that he believed the current war would end within a brief period of time.
In an interview with CBS News, President Trump said that the United States had achieved substantial progress which put them beyond his original estimate of 4 to 5 weeks required to end the conflict. The president made comments that showed a change in his expectations about how long the war would continue.
The interview has generated responses from both critics and supporters who expressed different views about the conflict and its current developments.
