US President Donald Trump has claimed that the US has carried out a ‘massive strike’ against Venezuela and that its President Nicolas Maduro and his wife have been captured.
In a statement released on his social media platform ‘Truth Social’, Trump said that the US has successfully carried out a massive operation against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro. President Maduro and his wife have been captured and transferred out of the country.
He added that ‘this operation was carried out in cooperation with US law enforcement agencies. More details will be revealed soon. There will be a press conference at 11 am today in Mar-a-Lago. Thank you for your attention on this matter! President Donald J. Trump.’
The announcement came as an extraordinary development in US-Venezuelan relations, however, the claim could not be immediately confirmed by independent sources. Trump said that more information would be provided at the press conference.
