WASHINGTON D.C.: The White House has revealed that every Afghan immigrant is undergoing a renewed scrutiny due to issues related to national security.

White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt stated that President Donald Trump has directed an evaluation of Afghan citizens coming into the United States especially in light of the recent shooting involving a National Guard service member.

Leavitt made it clear that the U.S. Government would promptly deport anyone determined to be a security risk, to the nation. “Our priority is protecting the safety and security of the public. Any person who threatens that security will be expelled from the country ” she asserted.

Due to the increased security concerns the White House has also announced a halt to all refugee entries and the processing of Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) for Afghan nationals. This action comes after the event where an Afghan national allegedly discharged a weapon at National Guard personnel triggering worries about possible security threats, from certain immigrants.
