KHYBER: In the wake of the unprovoked firing by Afghan Taliban on the Pak-Afghan border and the recent military tension, a grand solidarity rally was taken out in Landi Kotal area of Khyber District by local elders, councillors and business community in support of Pakistan Army.
The rally started from Tehsil Compound Road, which reached the Press Club via Landi Kotal Bazaar. On this occasion, the participants held the national flag and banners in support of Pakistan Army, on which slogans were written in favor of Pakistan Army and determination to defend the borders.
A large number of citizens including local tribal elders, elected councillors, representatives of the business community participated in the rally. The participants expressed their full loyalty to their armed forces by raising slogans of “Long Live the Pak Army” and “Long Live Pakistan”.
On this occasion district administration officers and police personnel were also present in the rally, who, along with performing security duties, appreciated the spirit of the people.
Speaking outside the Press Club Landi Kotal, tribal elders and business leaders said that the entire nation is proud of the way the Pakistan Army has responded to the enemy’s aggression during the recent border tension.
“We stand by the Pakistan Army. Defending the borders is not only the responsibility of the army but also of the entire nation. The tribal people have played the role of the vanguard for the defence of the country in the past and will not hesitate to make any sacrifice now.”
The business community made it clear that they fully support every policy and defense measure of their armed forces and no kind of mischief from across the border will be tolerated. At the end of the rally, special prayers were also offered for the security, stability of the country and the successes of the Pakistan Army.
